FUDO BUDDHA
The most powerful of all Buddhas & Main Deity of Samurai Buddhism (Fudo-Shu)

Just like the founder of Jodo Saint Honen honors Amida as the Supreme Buddha along with Kannon & Seishi as secondary deities -- and just as Nichiren honors the Lotus Sutra -- along with Fudo, Aizen, Myoken and other deities, in Fudo Shu we honor Almighty Fudo Buddha and His entourage of Guardian Deities (Zenjin) including Nio Kongo Rikishi (Vajrapani -- the first and last saced site at all Buddhist temples across East Asia), Bishamonten (the Chief of the Heavenly Generals) and Myoken -- the popular Samurai war god who is a warrior manifestation of the Healing Buddha Yakushi Nyorai. Along with Almighty Fudo, Nio-sama, Bishamonten and Myoken have also helped win battles and bring success to devotees from Prince Shotoku to Uesugi Kenshin and the Chiba clan and are the worthy Entourage of Almighty Fudo Buddha and the main deities of Samurai Buddhism. If in a temple you cannot find a statue of Almighty Fudo you can petition Nio-sama, Bishamonten or Myoken sama to intercede on His behalf. If they are also not available, then you can call on any Buddha or Bodhisattva to help you in the name of Almighty Fudo Buddha who as Roshana the Cosmic Buddha is the Leader of all.
